Beskrivning
This seminar will focus on rule of law during war and the war crimes committed by Russia in their illegal war against Ukraine and how those are investigated and prosecuted. What is rule of law and how is it affected by war? What legal institutions are important and how can these be supported and strengthened? These questions will be addressed by Ms. Krasnoborova, Liaison Prosecutor for Ukraine at Eurojust.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has announced that the EU's support for Ukraine is unwavering. What does the coordination at EU level look like and what measures are EU institutions taking to support Ukraine? Which role has Sweden taken in the European support to Ukraine in general and how does Sweden work on issues of war crimes in particular?
We will also hear more about the work that the European Commission is doing to find ways to make Russia pay for its war crimes and for the reconstruction of Ukraine, and whether frozen Russian assets could be used for these purposes.
This seminar is co-hosted with Folk och Försvar.
