Beskrivning
81% of the Europeans consider foreign interference in our democratic systems a serious problem, according to a recent Eurobarometer. Many, including the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, see disinformation as a top concern for the coming years, a threat to this year’s elections and a contributing factor to increased polarization within our societies.
In this seminar, a panel of experts from traditional and social media as well as from concerned authorities discusses recent examples of disinformation campaigns targeting Sweden and other EU Member States as well as share best practices on how to counter the impact of such campaigns.
In the panel:
- Magnus Hjort, Director General for the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency
- Maria Persson Löfgren, Correspondent in Russia for Swedish Public Radio
- Sara Övreby, Public policy and government relations manager, Google
- Eileen Coughlan, Expert at the European Commission, Directorate General for Communication
The debate is moderated by Patrik Oksanen, journalist, author and resident senior fellow at Frivärld
