Beskrivning
Viable Cities and the European Commission's representation in Sweden are pleased to invite you to our fifth European Viable Cities Day on December 8 - a bridge between the Swedish and European efforts towards the mission of climate neutral and sustainable cities by 2030.
The focus this year is the Climate City Contract as a tool supporting the alignment of local, national and European climate policy and action towards climate neutral cities by 2030. The climate investment plans, a part of Climate City Contract, is developed to mobilise the necessary investments to achieve the City Mission. We are honoured by the presence of many key actors in the climate transition in cities, who will share their experiences and aspirations for the next steps towards the mission in Sweden and Europe.
The first Swedish contracts were signed in 2020 by nine city mayors and the director generals from four government agencies and it is already cascading, on a local and regional level as well as on an European level. Today, two years later, Viable Cities is working together with 23 Swedish cities and five government agencies to accelerate the climate transition. On Dec 8, Swedish cities and Swedish government agencies will sign a revised and more ambitious Klimatkontrakt 2030.
